Rachael graduated from Delta College in 2001 with an Associate Degree in Arts and of Applied Science in Dental Assisting. She is also a graduate of Strictly Business: Dale Carnegie® Training. She has worked in dentistry since 2001 and has been with our office since 2003. Rachael is originally from Kawkawlin and now resides in Saint Charles with her husband, son, daughter, and a feisty Boston Terrier. In her leisure time, Rachael enjoys summer weekends in Oscoda, random road trips to explore Michigan, reading, shopping(!), vacationing with family and watching college football; Go Blue!

Amy joined our team this spring as a receptionist at Just a Smile Away. Amy’s favorite part of the job is interacting with patients, and it is no surprise our patients and staff alike appreciate how welcoming and thoughtful Amy is.

When Amy isn’t behind the desk you can find her working as a makeup artist, or at home with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs, a chiweenie named Boo and a bull mastiff named Lurch.

Sandy is a Great Lakes Bay Region native. She has worked in the dental field for over 30 years as a scheduling and front desk coordinator and we are so excited for her to bring her experience and expertise to our bustling practice!

Sandy has two children and lives in Thomas Township with her husband, Tom, and their spoiled golden retriever Boomer. She loves reading, yoga and traveling. (Ask her about her trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands!)

Chandra graduated from Delta College in 2013 with an Associate Degree in Arts. She joined the Just A Smile Away Dental team in 2015. Chandra is from Hemlock and now lives in Saginaw with her husband, son, two daughters, and fur children. Chandra enjoys vacationing up north with her family, reading, shopping, and watching her favorite television series when she has downtime.

Kim studied accounting at Oakland Community College and has worked for 15 years as an orthodontic financial and insurance coordinator. She has been with our office since 2014 and assisted with opening the Troy location. Kim and her husband divide their time between their Ortonville home and their cabin up north. Kim loves to quilt and, when not at work, is likely to be at her sewing machine.

Carol obtained an Advanced Certificate in Medical Administration from Delta College and began working in the dental field in 2018. She joined our office in 2022. Carol is from Bay City and comes from a large family of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Currently she resides in Saginaw with her husband and 2 sons. Carol likes golfing, going to concerts, and road trips to visit family in the South.

Laekyn is the first voice you will probably hear when you call the office! She graduated from Western High School in 2015, has been working in the dental field since 2000 and joined our team in 2022. Laekyn lives in Kawkawlin with her fiance, 2 dogs and a cat. She enjoys spending weekends with friends kayaking, camping and playing games.

Tami graduated from Delta College in 2001 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She is licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). She has worked in dentistry since 2001 and has been with our office since 2007. Tami is originally from Bad Axe and currently resides in Hemlock. She enjoys social outings with friends, cooking and vacationing with her family.

Dana graduated from Delta College in 2007 with an Associate Degrees in Business and of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Dana is licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). She has worked in dentistry since her graduation and has been with our office since 2013. Dana is originally from Bay City and currently lives in Essexville with her husband and two sons. She loves spending time traveling with her family and watching her sons in their extracurricular activities.

Kelly graduated from Ferris State University in 1994 with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been working in the dental field ever since and has worked with our office since 2022. Kelly lives in Bay City with her husband and daughter. She enjoys playing golf and spending time with family on the weekends.

Mytraya began her career in the dental field in 2016 with an Associate Degree in Dental Assisting. She worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for 5 years until graduating from Delta College in 2021 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Mytraya is from Saginaw and enjoy spending time with her family and friends. She also likes finding new and unique restaurants to experience.

Lauren graduated from Delta College in 2012 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and has been working in the dental field ever since. She started with our office in 2016. Lauren grew up in Saginaw and now lives in Bay City with her husband and 2 sons. In addition to her two boys she has two “fur children;” Breezy, a Dachshund mix, and Boo, a calico cat. Lauren loves shopping, especially for decor, and enjoys doing home renovations and finding old furniture pieces to refinish.

Stephanie is graduate of Dental College. Originally she thought about pursuing teaching but switched to the medical field after exploring her options at the career center.

“I love helping people,” Stephanie said. She enjoys that there is an educational component to her job now, educating her patients about oral hygiene and health.

Stephanie grew up in Standish and now lives in Linwood with her husband and son. When she is not working with patients at Just a Smile Away she enjoys working on house projects, crafting (she actually has a craft room!), camping and listening to audiobooks

Tammy graduated from Delta College in 2003 with an Associate in Applied Science in Dental Assisting. She started working with our office in 2019. Tammy lives in Chesaning with her husband, 2 children, and 2 “fur babies”. When she’s not crafting in her spare time, she loves to travel and visit new places. On weekends Tammy and her family enjoy camping, kayaking, hiking, and ATV riding.

Patrice graduated from Delta College in 2008 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Assisting. She is licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and has an Advanced Certificate in Dental Assisting. She is a member of the Mid-Michigan Dental Assistants Society. Patrice has worked in dentistry since 2008 and has been with our office since 2011. She is a life-long resident of Bay City and enjoys spending time with her children and her rescue dog, a Lab-mix named Chase.

Kelly graduated from Delta College in 2016 with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. She began working in the dental profession in 2007 and has been with Sabourin & Hayden DDS since 2018. Kelly resides in Midland with her husband, three children and her German Shepherd, Deuce. When not at work, Kelly enjoys fishing, camping, and kayaking.

Barb graduated from Washtenaw Community College in 1990 with certification in Dental Assisting. She started working with our office in 2022. Barb lives in Saint Charles with her husband Steve. She has 4 children, 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. Barb loves traveling and spending time with her family.

Alle graduated from Ross Medical Education Center in 2017 with a certificate in Dental Assisting. She lives in Bay City with her husband and Alaskan Malamute, Mishka. Alle enjoys traveling to Canada,hiking, playing tennis and baking.

Melanie has been working as a dental assistant for 27 years. Originally from Plymouth, Melanie now lives in Saginaw Township with her husband, dog, cats and snakes. She has two adult daughters, enjoys gardening, and going on motorcycle rides with her husband.
